Keeping up with the American Concrete Institute, Kuwait Chapter, tradition, the Annual Award Banquet was held on 25th May 2010.

The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Ahmad Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Minister of State for Development Affairs, Minister of State for Housing Affairs represented by Eng. Abdul Aziz Al- Kulaib, Undersecretary Ministry of Public Works at Movenpick Hotel - The Convention Center - Free Zone and was attended by a large number of colleagues from various disciplines of the building industry along with the ACI members.

The Award of Excellence presented to a local outstanding project, was given to Al- Tijaria Tower project for being An Innovative Structural System and An Iconic Architectural Landmark in Kuwait. The award was given to COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE Co.; the Owner and Developer of the project, Dar Al-Jazera Consultants in association with NORR Group, Canada-Dubai; the Architect and Engineer and Sayed Hamid Behbehani and Sons Co., the General Contractor, National Industries Co. and Bubiyan Ready-mix Co.; The Concrete Suppliers, KEO International Consultants; The Construction Manager.

The event was followed by a social and dinner party.

The Award of Achievement is presented to an individual to recognize outstanding contribution to the engineering community and in the State of Kuwait.

The award this year was given to Dr. Nabil Hani Qadummi for his lifetime contribution towards promoting engineering education, training and professional project management in the State of Kuwait.
